Russian Jewish Ministry |
It all started
with meeting some Russian-Jewish immigrant friends. There are between 50,000
and 100,000 living in Philadlephia. We started some small group meetings
and holiday dinners in our home. Eventually we began working on planting
a Russian speaking congregation among Jewish immigrants from the former Soviet
Union. Marko Malyj, who was a bi-vocational volunteer with CHAIM, did
tremendous work in getting this rolling. God sent us an organizing pastor,
Rev. Ilya, a congregational planter with Mission to North America,
of the Presbyterian Church in America. Rock of Israel is now a reality! We
now have weekly meetings and the congregation is growing! New people
are contacted by door-to-door visitation and by telephone.
CHAIM's director, Rev. Fred Klett serves in a pastoral capacity
in the congregation and helps with evangelism and worship.
Rev.
Rick Anderson helps with telephone calling. (He doesn't really
wear a Russian hat while calling!)
Rock of Israel, the Russian speaking PCA congregation we are working on planting, now has it's own web site:
